UNMC’s world-renown Munroe-Meyer Institute in Omaha, Nebraska used images of non-threatening wildlife, vibrant flowers, and unique textures hung in non-traditional ways based on research to help patients with autism and intellectual or physical disabilities reach their destinations with limited stress and confusion while incorporating calming displays of nature throughout the many levels of their facility to provide fun, interactive wayfinding.
